My illustration style ranges from pen and ink to watercolor to computer generated art to linoleum cut prints. My art has appeared in the New York Times, Holt Rinehart and Winston and Town and Country.

"An early interest in satire and political art fuels my work–dealing with some aspect of the human condition–greed, strife, relationships and hope. The tactile nature of cutting linoleum adds a certain dimension that forces me to get to the essence of the idea.

Those Before Us is a self-published book by Ed Towles of 40 linoleum cut prints including African American icons Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman and Miles Davis. The Those Before Us theme has expanded to art exhibits, lectures and workshops reflecting the black experience. The art exhibited ranges from fine art prints to ceramic art and letterpress art.
